Cowboy Church is non-denominational. Therefore we ascribe to the following beliefs, not based on our individual denominational backgrounds, but rather on our collective recognition that the Bible is God's Holy Word. Acts 2:41-47

We believe:

  • That the Bible is the infallable, inerrant, indestructable, every living, divinely inspired Word of God.  John 1:1
  • That there is in God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  Acts 1:4-8
  • That Jesus Christ is the son of God, that He was born of a virgin, that He died for our sins on the cross, and that He rose again from the dead, and now sits on the right hand of the Father in Heaven, interceding on our behalf.
  John 1:29-34; Matt: 28:5-6; Luke 1:26-31
  • That baptism is by water and submersion, just as Jesus himself was baptized. Mark 1:9-11
"and straightway coming up out of the water......"
  • That the Holy Spirit is our comforter as promised to us by Jesus Christ. Acts 1:4
  • That Jesus can do anything, for anyone, at anytime, in any place, He so chooses. Revelation 19:6
  • That salvation is by profession of faith through grace provided to us under the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9

Are we a denomination? The answer is no.

A denomination is characterized by the presence of specific "man made" guidelines or requirements. These are often called bylaws or a constitution. These may, or may not, be Biblically based.

CCofVa. elects to subscribe only to the Word of God. We believe this book, given to all of mankind from God Himself through a collection of writers inspired by the Holy Spirit, is sufficient to govern all situations if the body of Christ will submit to it's authority.
